About the artists

Iva Yos (b. Rachel Yalisove) and Amy Frear create performance art as Amy & Iva. Frear’s curiosity in how humor undercuts aggressive behavior pairs well with Yos’s interests in neurotic behavior caused by capitalism. Frear’s style of expression involves duration, stillness, and talking softly into microphones, while Yos enjoys illustrating jokes in large-scale drawings. Yos received a MA from the Royal College of Art in London, United Kingdom and a BFA from the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. Frear holds a MFA from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.
