Orgullo Latino Fashion Association in conjunction with La Casa Latina at the University of Pennsylvania and the Institute of Contemporary Art are proud to announce Exodus & Metamorphosis, the first Latinx centered fashion show at Penn. This event will close out La Casa’s Carnival programming and start off the Institute of Contemporary Art’s student week with a fashion show highlighting Carnival Festival clothing from throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
Exodus & Metamorphosis focuses on the motifs of transformation, migration, and adaptation common to Carnival Festivities. Carnival is unique to each region where it is celebrated as it tells the story of the people in that region. With this show, we hope to show that even within such a wide variety, there are similarities within our cultures in which our community at Penn and other institutions find comfort.
