McKenzie’s past performances include Furtive Movements (2018) at Frieze Art Fair New York; Darker Than the Moon, Smaller Than the Sun (2014) at The Studio Museum in Harlem and All the King’s Horses…None of His Men at Third Streaming, New York (2013). He has exhibited in group exhibitions including the 2014 Whitney Biennial and The Ungovernables: New Museum Triennial (2012), as well as On Premises at Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects (2009) and Black Is, Black Ain’t at the Renaissance Society, Chicago. He is the recipient of a United States Artist Fellowship Award (2000), and from 2014-15 was a fellow at the American Academy in Rome. He teaches in the Studio Arts department at Bard College and serves as faculty at the School of Visual Arts.
