Tiven will talk about his work in conjunction with his upcoming exhibition for ICA: Synthetic Spectra / The Big Nothing (2004), organized as part of ICA@50: Pleasing Artists and Publics since 1963 by Liz Park, ICA Whitney-Lauder Curatorial Fellow.

Tiven’s film, photography, and writing explore accumulation without advancement, erasure as the result of collection, and fallibility of personal and institutional memory; his talk will focus on the weaponization of pack animals and the mechanization of animal forms.
