Bodega: Performance Series with Xavier Cha

About

Xavier Cha directed four actors through a series of choreographed movements in a durational and laborious exercise inspired by a warning for heat exhaustion that the artist had encountered in the Grand Canyon. A slot machine animation was projected on the gallery wall. Each of the four fruits in the animation—grapes, cherries, an apple, and a banana—corresponded to t-shirts worn by each of the performers. As different configurations of fruit graphics appeared on the wall the actors were prompted to enact one of two scenarios depicting an extreme emotion. Actors: Fleece, Kevin Hurley, Erika Santosvossa, and James C. Stewart.
