Penn History of Art PhD candidate Anastasia Amrhein led an intimate conversation over complimentary La Colombe coffee prompted by the themes in Jason Rhoades, Four Roads. Organic systems versus manmade systems, systems of power and of commerce: Rhoades made use of many kinds of systems in the ideas and structures of his art. This conversation explored the tensions between some of those structures, as well as the role scale plays in Rhoades’s art.
