Celebrate your freedom of expression and thought at the Institute of Contemporary Art’s Free For All: Free Press, an evening exploring self-publishing and independent media. Dive into a wide offering of free independent papers and self-published zines from Philadelphia-based artists, collectives and organizations and walk away with a free poster designed by artist Ghazaal Vojdani. Then exercise your right of expression and create a customized print of your own through a live Risograph printing workshop led by Common Press, a letterpress and printing studio at the University of Pennsylvania. The event will feature presentations and printed giveaways from Philadelphia-based organizers and collectives including Just Seeds, Lava Space, the Media Mobilizing Project, and the People’s Paper Co-op.
Enjoy an array of free savory snacks and hot beverages from local businesses as you listen to live music by Philadelphia-based producer and artist DJ Haram. ICA’s galleries will be open late with free guided tours of our current exhibitions, The Freedom Principle: Experiments in Art and Music, 1965 to Now and Endless Shout.
ICA’s biannual Free For All programs invite students and community members to experience ICA after hours and enjoy free snacks, drinks, exhibition tours, music, and performances. This event is free and open to the public. Register here.
