Mindfulness at the Museum is a series of drop-in guided meditation sessions facilitated by skilled holistic practitioners. Our exhibitions serve as the backdrop, as you learn how to become present in the “here and now.” Research shows mindfulness meditation can increase memory skills, foster compassion, and reduce stress. Each encounter is unique from the last, drawing synthesis between the mind and body, leaving participants equipped with knowledge on how to lead a balanced life.
Participation is free and open to all. Prior meditation experience and special clothing is not required.
Each session will create intentional space for personal reflection, guided meditation, and silent meditation. All levels welcome, simply bring your breath.
Shesheena A. Bray came to Philadelphia to attend Temple University in 2003, where she completed her undergraduate studies in African American Studies and Political Science. In 2014, Shesheena realized her service to Black and Brown communities was best actualized through her passion: mental and emotional wellness. Honing her focus and training, she earned her M.S.Ed in mental health counseling from The University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Upon completion, Shesheena started Going Inward Wellness, LLC. In addition to seeing clients one one one for therapy, Shesheena also leads psycho-educational groups, and teaches mindfulness in Philadelphia public schools.
