Evan Nabrit is a second-year MFA candidate at the University of Pennsylvania. Fascinated by what he sees as the humanizing gaze superimposed upon select actors of performative violence in the United States and abroad, Nabrit’s work pictures an intersubjectivity between image, status and ethics. He earned his BA from Amherst College in 2006 and, for the most part, produces paintings, objects and video work today.
Daniel O’Neill is a second-year MFA candidate at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to his time at Penn, O’Neill spent several years in Rome researching how artists use mosaic, fresco, and sculpture to create narrative and propaganda. This research led to a series of murals and room-sized paper installations. At Penn, O’Neill has created video installations and outdoor events that involve audiences in a carnival-like atmosphere.
