The Institute of Contemporary Art and International House Philadelphia present a screening of short films reflecting on the themes of collective improvisation, anticolonial resistance and black cultural nationalism found in The Freedom Principle: Experiments in Art and Music, 1965 to Now and Endless Shout.

The program includes a new digital restoration of Sarah Maldoror’s short film Monangambee, which was shot in Algeria and features a soundtrack by the Art Ensemble of Chicago, and will feature The Otolith Group in person introducing their work.

This event, which will take place at International House Philadelphia (3701 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA) is free and open to the public; register here.
