Join us for an evening with Philadelphia-based artist Taji Ra’oof Nahl whose work has connections with Ulysses Jenkins on many levels: a rich understanding of collaboration, utilization of video, historical indexing, and reenactment as practice.

The conversation will connect Jenkins’s and Nahl’s interdisciplinary work, their use of video editing techniques, staging of art happenings, documentation, and social commentary.

Moderators are Penn Graduate Lecturers Enrique Morales and Will Owen.

Taji Ra’oof Nahl selects video works from his catalog that connect with Jenkins oeuvre. So as to delve into the relevance & parallels. The conversation will triangulate the connections between Jenkins and Nahl looking at their engagement with Interdisciplinary actions, video editing techniques, staging “Art Happenings”, collaboration with friends & peers, documentation, homage, social commentary, and “being in the streets with art.”

Taji Ra’oof Nahl aka TR7 is an American interdisciplinary artist whose vocabulary delves into social commentary via historical & futurist aesthetic. Installation, video, performance , soundscapes, sculpture, painting, are utilities that embodies poetic & abstract narrative for his oeuvre.
