For ICA’s Entryways project series, artists are invited to design window graphics that are visible from the street, welcoming visitors and inspiring curiosity. The next Entryways project will feature the work of artist  Saif Azzuz  (born 1987, Eureka, CA; lives and works in Pacifica, CA). 

Azzuz’s work is often inspired by his background as a member of the Yurok Tribe, whose ancestral lands are located in present-day northern California. He frequently includes images based on native plants and Indigenous land management techniques in colorful, abstract paintings and installations.

For Entryways, Azzuz’s graphics will fill ICA’s Sansom Street-facing windows and will be informed by research into the natural history of Philadelphia. The project and its placement on the outside of ICA’s building will create an entry point for conversations about how communities and the natural environment can support each other.
