Kate Abercrombie



Kate Abercrombie joined the ICA in 2018 as Registrar. Prior to joining the ICA, Abercrombie was the Master Printer and managed artist projects at the Fabric Workshop and Museum, Philadelphia. As a Master Printer, she worked with dozens of artists on new prints including Kiki Smith, Mary Heilmann, Richard Tuttle, and Jun Kaneko. She also managed artist in residence projects that focused on experimentation and material exploration. A selection of artist projects managed includes Nate Young’s The Unseen Evidence of Things Substantiated, 2015, Mika Tajima’s Negative Entropy, 2012, Tommy Joseph’s My Ancestors, 2011, Rúben Ortiz Torres’ Hi’n’Lo, 2008, and Shahzia Sikander’s Illustrated Page Series, 2006.

Abercrombie has an MFA in studio art from the University of Texas at Austin and a BFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University. She exhibits her work regularly, and her work is in the permanent collections of The Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.
