Bio

As the Chief Preparator/Building Administrator, Richard Harrod is responsible for overseeing the installation and execution of an exhibition from beginning to end. From orchestrating an infinity of details, staying on budget, and making sure the show opens on time, Harrod is instrumental in bringing plans and ideas to the physical space of the ICA.

Prior to joining ICA, Richard Harrod was building houses as well as making and installing (a lot of) art. At their core, Harrod’s previous work and interests in supporting the production of art with a team of creatives are all good ingredients for this current job.

Harrod holds an MFA from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University and a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art, PEW Fellowship in the Arts, and is Co-Inventor of Blohard Gallery whose closing show Death Death Death happened many years ago.

He enjoys making music outside of his work and spending time with family and friends.
