“A while back I discovered two copies of this seven inch 45 in my motley collection of singles. Tiffany’s 80’s hit was not an original but a cover of a Tommy James and the Shondell’s song from the mid sixties. It’s a very clever bubblegum lyric about fleeing the parental gaze set to a heartbeat rhythm that is intended to convey the excitement of heavy teenage petting. I thought it would be interesting to document this instance of doubling in my collection by showing both copies. Personally, I always find it interesting to examine ‘identical’ printed copies and to meditate on the minuscule differences in the colour rendition, die cutting, general wear and tear. I recommend that the viewer examine these records for a period of about 30 to 45 minutes. If you look at them long enough you may start to get the impression they are looking back at you….” – Rodney Graham
